On the 6th of Feb we had another public holiday, this time it was Waitangi Day. A bit unusual to have a holiday in the middle of the week, but we weren't complaining. The weather was nice, so we had a BBQ and invited Pete & Claire, and David & Linda. I work with David and Pete and we've been out a few times together. We also put the Wii to good use, with bowling, tennis and golf proving the most popular games.

Today we went to Martinborough for the More FM Winery Tour, which was held at Alana Estate Winery. It's a music event sponsored by the local radio. There were 3 artists, Anika Moa, Goldenhorse and Brooke Fraser. It was a very civilised affair, with camping chairs and picnic blankets galore. We managed to get $10 chairs from The Warehouse and took some food as well. We were also lucky with the weather as when we left Wellington we had heavy intermittent showers, but as soon as we got over the hills, the sun was shining and it was really hot. A lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon!
