After I had a quick meeting at Hudson to go through paperwork and sign my contract, we decided to go and walk around Oriental Parade before climbing Mount Victoria. The climb to the top wasn't too bad, and the track is for walkers and mountain bikers as well. However, when we got to the top, the actual lookout was closed for renovation. You still get really good views though, and there is another lookout a few metres down the road.

On the way down we decided to walk down the road instead of the tracks, and head towards Newtown. There is a series of walkways in and around Wellington, and the route we took from Oriental Parade to Newtown pretty much covers most of the Southern Walkway, and my legs were certainly tired by the time we got back to the hostel.

When we got to Newtown we were really close to the zoo, but we didn't fancy any more walking around so instead we went and had a coffee At the bottom of the hill!

. At this point Graham received a call saying that he'd got a 2nd interview with Telecom on Wednesday 19th Sept, which is really good news as that is the job he really wants.

We started heading back towards the hostel, and ended up going past Bigsave, one of the furniture shops that we'd seen in Porirua, but which had a smaller shop in Wellington. So we had a look in, and about 45mins later we had purchased a bed, dining room table & chairs, and a sofa suite. Not bad at all, and it was done using wedding present money from Joan & Rob, so many thanks for that! We also checked out a TV in the shop next door but haven't bought one of those yet. Quite a productive day overall!
