Today, the morning was spent preparing again for my interview, but as I'd spent most of Monday doing initial preparation, I was more relaxed this time. The interview was at Transpower which was just down the road from the hostel. It was a fairly relaxed and informal interview, a totally different style from the interviews I've experienced in the UK, but I thought it went well. So after, ringing the agency to give them feedback, we decided to walk to Premier House, where the prime minister Helen Clarke lives. You can't really see much from the outside, as you would expect it's quite a private place. However, there is a big gate with a sign outside saying Premier House. I'll go back again to take some photos! We then wandered down towards the harbour, as it was a nice sunny day - the first in a few days.
The evening was spent packing as we were going go Palmerston North on the 10am bus on Friday, as check out time for the hostel is 9.30am so it made sense to get an early bus. Graham also had some good news from one of the agencies, about a possible interview for Telecom. They wanted to see him on Friday but as we weren't going to be in Wellington that wasn't possible. When he checked his emails later on in the evening, he found out that an interview had been set up for Tuesday afternoon. Perfect! Meanwhile, my agency had phoned me to say that the Transpower guy was asking about references, so that's a positive sign!
