In Nairobi, we went to the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage which was good.  We thought it was called the Daphne Sheldrick elephant orphanage?  So we were a bit confused but it didn’t matter.  It took us an hour to get there as the traffic was sooo bad because of road works.  It was interesting to hear about the elephants and the terrible poaching that still happens.  The elephants enjoyed playing around with each other, and thoroughly enjoyed being bottle fed their milk.  Seeing the armed rangers slinking through the bushes was a bit unnerving but we got used to seeing them everywhere.  From there we went to the giraffe centre.  Being up so close and personal with the giraffe and hand feeding them was a real treat.  Reg put a small branch with leaves in his mouth and the giraffe came and took it.  He was pretty chuffed with being kissed by a giraffe!
