Today is the last ride with our car...what a shame I feel I like it a bit already!!!
The landscape started to change as we drove, in the beginning the architecture of the buildings changed, no more wood huts but stone buildings, then somehow the mountains disappeared and we were driving in a vast plain. The temperature changed as well from 8 degrees to 25!!!
2 hours of driving and we found ourselves in Marco polo airport, we left the car and then took a boat to the city.
Our hotel is in lido which is an island south east from the main island, after the check-in we found out that the hotel is pretty empty so they gave us the suite for the same price, it's unnecessary to say that everything is very very expensive here so a big apartment in a price of a small room we can't say no
We put aviv in a summer outfit and took the water bus to the city. What a strange way of living...
As we sail we notice how aviv is looking for attention from other people...old people, she is staring with her big eyes till she gets the attention...then we hear Bella!!!chao!!!bella!!!!
We landed in piazza San Marco, which is huge and packed with tourists. I think there is more tourists in venezia then residents...I have to admit, we didn't like it so much. It seems like the city is beautiful and its charm and magic are well explained but the amount of tourists gave us bad taste. Unfortunately we didn't go to the basilica or to the tower, there were long lines that we didn't want to stand in...we just walked in the narrow alleys with the shops, after three we understand the concept, they are good in glass, this is why all the stores, well almost all the stores sells beautiful pieces of glass!!
We saw the gondoliers singing songs to the tourists...does anyone know why they all wear stripes Tshirts?? And still who made this concept of city on canals?? It's beautiful and very good for tourist but it's so unefficiant....we need to make a law against cities like that!!!
