Well todays drive is only 114 miles and we went along the scenic highway 36 to Red Bluff and then up the I-5 to Redding. As I said before I had made a reservation for two nights in this park. It was a beautiful setting with mature oak trees and nice sites. There was a large area for the dogs to run and it was nice to relax and we had good weather. The drive was easy and again quite beautiful. You pass by Lassen Volcanic National Park. We did not go in but were able to see the volcanic rock as we traveled down the road. That part of the drive was nice and what can I say about the I-5. It is and interstate highway and it will get you from point A to B quickly but not so great on scenery.
On our way into Redding we spotted a Liquor Barn which we made a trip to to stock up and check on prices. Canadian beer is selling for $11.99 for 18 bottles or cans!!!!! Numerous selections of wines both domestic and imported for very reasonable prices and well as alcohol. I especially like the aisle where they have bargain prices on stock that is not moving. It was great fun and our cabinet is now fully stocked.
This park we were staying in had the local newspaper delivered to your coach each morning. It is quite civilized to get a paper with your morning coffee!
Not much else to say about this stop other than we relaxed and were looking forward to getting out to the coast in Oregon. We are going to go out on Highway 299 to Arcata and then up to Brookings.
