Well todays drive starts early. I make a trip to the Chevron station and fill up get some coffees for us both as we are going to have to cover some 291 miles today. We had been told when we were in Torrey that a good place to have breakfast was in Winnemucca at the Model T Casino and RV Park. Given our early start we were there by 10:30 and indeed had breakfast. It was good and the special is, steak and eggs, hash browns and toast for $3.99. The steak, by the way was a new york strip loin. After breakfast we tried our luck at the slot machines and we came out ahead and the amount won covered breakfast. Good deal.
Back into Abby after a small exercise for the dogs and we push on. It is getting hot and we put on the A/C unit to give additional cooling for the coach and its passengers.
Rest of the drive quite uneventful and we pulled into Boomtown at about 3:30. We are tired and a little frazzled. This RV park which is attached to the Boomtown Casino is some 9 miles west of downtown Reno. It is a park that is run by KOA which came as a bit of a surprise as it is not disclosed our Woodalls directory. It was another larger paved area however sites are big we had some grass and there was big areas for the dogs to be able to run off leash. We are going to be here for a couple of nights and plan to do some exploring of Reno and do a little gambling. I might add that the two days we were there the temp was 96 on Saturday and 94 on Sunday. Nice to have A/C in Abby. We take it easy on Saturday and will go into Reno on Sunday.
Sunday comes and as I said it was hot. We drive back into town go to the Cal-Neva casino and Harrahs. Spend some money and have a lot of laughs on the penny slots. Decide to get back to the dogs and just unwind. Spent some time in Boomtown on Sunday night and then back to Abby. Tomorrow we push on to Standish. A small town(population 85) just outside of Susanville.
