Well todays drive was considerably better that yesterday. Quite a short drive and we arrived here at about 2:00 this afternoon. If you remember from my last entry I was not really looking forward to this drive. Although we are heading south we first had to climb through a mountain pass and the prediction was for snow. Imagine my concern when the signs you see posted state things like "frequent strong winds for next 20 miles" or "caution blowing dust storms poor visibility for next 19 miles". Oh joy I think to myself another fours hours of wrestling with Abby as we trundled down the road. I guess the road gods decided to smile on us and give us a break. At times the weather was less than desirable but all in all the drive was okay.
Upon entering Utah we stopped at a rest area for the dogs and also it had a visitor information centre where my trusty navigator obtained a wealth of information. I committed a small "oops" and drove by some National historical site dealing with the last Golden Spike. Pat really wanted to read about it and I just sailed on by, but I stopped at a wildlife bird sanctuary which had  no appeal to her. I can't understand what the problem was? Oh well we pressed on and arrived in Salt Lake City. Tonight we went to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir conducting their rehearsal for the Sunday service. It was fantastic. We are going back tomorrow for more exploring of the Temple Square as well as the rest of the city. Hope to have some pictures to add to this entry of the drive and this city. We are here until Saturday morning when we push off for Moab.
