Thursday I took a day trip to the other side of Lake Geneva to Yvoire.  It is on the French side of the lake.  To get there, I took a 10 minute train ride from Geneva to Nyon, Switzerland, and from there a boat across the lake to Yvoire.  It is not a big town, and when I got off the boat I thought I may have wasted a trip.  It didn't appear that there was much, if anything, to do.  However, as I wondered around the little medieval streets, I came across a lot of interesting little craft stores.  They also have a castle and church.

I had a very nice lunch on a restaurant by the lake.  The food was very good and I had a nice view of the town and lake.  After lunch, I strolled around the city for an hour or so, then took the boat back to Nyon.  In Nyon, I took the mini-train tour of town, which only takes about 10 min. as Nyon is not a very big town either.  However, it is quite an interesting little town with some nice shops.

Neither place is on my top things to do in Europe, but if you have some free time in Geneva, it's not a bad choice.
