The drive started just off Hwy 1 and looped through the forest and around some amazing homes to Poppy Hills golf course. This one was a municipal but looked immaculate and I got told off for putting one foot off the cart path onto the rough whilst taking a picture.
Next stop was at Spanish Bay links course which looked very difficult - narrow fairways and very rough, rough. The hotel there is a 5 star resort with a long waiting list at the restaurant for dinner. On the coast here the sea has big swells which gives an amazing backdrop to the greens
The next course we took in was Spyglass Hill designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and is another open to the public - again an lovely looking course.
We continued on to many of the incredible lookouts and gigantic houses eventually arriving at the Lone Cypress and the image used as the famous logo of the Pebble Beach Company. Further along the coast we came to the Ghost Tree - a cypress that had been bleached by the sun and salt.
Our circuit ended at Pebble Beach Golf Links where we hand a wander around the club and down to the 18th hole set along the ocean.
For the afternoon we headed inland to a town call Gilroy which is apparently the garlic capital of the USA - and it certainly smells like it. But they do have a massive outlet mall - so more shopping !
