All this travelling round New Zealand for six months had taken its toll and we were in need of a holiday. So we took a week at Coconuts Beach Resort & Spa in Samoa.
It was pretty much what you might expect: a week of lazing by the pool, where the most energetic thing we did all day was swim across the pool to get another drink. We did hire a jeep for a couple of days to explore the island and managed to get round most of the major tourist highlights (mainly beaches and waterfalls). It's still the end of the monsoon season and there was plenty of rain during the week; thankfully most of it falling during the night. But there was plenty of sunshine too and we certainly enjoyed our South Pacific experience.
