Today we docked in Changquin, the largest city in China, and went to the city zoo where we saw giant and red pandas, Siberian tigers and Tibetan bears. There are currently only 1,000 Giant Pandas alive in all of China and the government has moved most of them to preserves. Since pandas rarely procreate the government is doing all it can to ensure the safety of those that are still alive. Following the zoo we travel to the Stillwell Museum of the Flying Tigers and the living quarters of General Jim Stilwell who helped the Chinese create an air defense against the Japanese during WWII. Next, we flew to the ancient city of Xi'an and checked into a very nice Sheraton. The plan is to have Chinese food together tonight, as a group but Matthew and I cannot face another Chinese dinner so we elect to eat in the hotel and I use the sauna and whirlpool. Tomorrow will be another full day of touring so we need to get some rest tonight.
