Here we are still, soaking up the sun in Koh Chang. Decision making has gone out the window, along with the ability to do anything other than lie still somewhere in this heat. Hitting buckets of vodka and mixer with relish doesn't seem to help either...

We managed to get out on Monday and I did a dive off Koh Rang, one of the islands just south of Koh Chang, which was amazing. So much life packed in to such a small place. We bought an underwater camera to take along on my second dive, but managed to forget it, so I'm thinking about doing a basic PADI course so that I can get some photos of the brain-like coral and the wealth of fish and generally weird looking things that live around it, sea cucumbers the size of your arm and sea urchins with 2ft long spikes that I was desperately trying to avoid.

Bouyed by our activity of the day, we watched Hot Fuzz in our resort restaurant and then headed down to Sun Set, a great little bar overhanging the sea, which was having a bit of a do. Two or three buckets of vodka, coke and red bull later, my memory ceased processing new things and that's where my night may as well have ended. It didn't however, and we carried on for some time according to Shelley, meeting lots of people (one I apparently used to play football with at Huby Corinthians when I was 10), having lots of conversations and dancing around (or just generally bumping and barging in to people). I'm going to have to take Shell's word for it though, because all I have is a big gaping hole where my memory should be and a small empty spot on our porch where my flip flops should be...

Our mantra really does seem to be heading towards Maņana... We were supposed to be going on an Elephant trek yesterday, which is somewhere just north of us on the island, but as hung over as we were, it was all we could do to roll out of bed at noon and walk 15 metres to the restaurant to snooze until the evening film. During the film, one of the people working in the restaurant jumped up and started whacking something with a big broom, which turned out to be a big scorpion that was in there the night before and managed to sting someone on the foot... Freaky deaky, so we're being a bit more vigalent, whilst staggering around after dark. We managed to walk through a load of massive ants yesterday, which we were oblivious to until I saw one of them writhing around on my flip flop, it's massive jaws clamped on to the side. Once they're on, they don't come off, I've still got a few heads welded on to the underside...

May still do my PADI around here (as I think we're staying forever, sorry, I mean a couple more days) as it's so cheap, and then it'll be easier to go on dives further on in our travels in Cambodia, Vietnam and India, and I can also make the most of my new underwater camera.

Anyways, glad to hear that autumn is coming on well back in England :) It's getting hotter here by the day.

Lots of love to you all
