We had quite an unsettled night waiting for news, and then this morning; before we left Onslow, we spoke on Skype to Gary's daughter in America.  She had just given birth to a beautiful baby girl, so precious, and "Poppy" was able to see her for the first time, as she was introduced to us by her very proud parents.  We could congratulate the new family over the Internet in real time. Modern technology is certainly great at times like this. Across the world from each other and still in touch visually.  How awesome is that and so very special...

We are now at a free camp on the banks of a very dry river. The wind has come up we are having dusty willies regularly; we are covered in fine powder and grit and the clean car is all covered once again, much to Gary's chagrin.  We are near another Mine Site as we can hear the trucks and equipment working, it continued right through the night.  Must be 24 hour workings.

Whilst taking Piper for a walk this afternoon, across the dry river bed; Gary and I were thrilled to see a Daddy Emu, but what made it so great, there was other movement in the grass, and soon we could see chicks, 4 in total, still with their stripes so not very old.  Daddy Emu eyed us very seriously and kept wandering along looking for food, the chicks had to keep up or be left behind.
This was so nice, seeing the new babies/chicks, after the good news this morning.
