Schipol Airport Amsterdam 24th June
Waiting for our next flight to Frankfurt and onto Istanbul.
Lovely couple of days in Amsterdam, although quite cool and windy. Looking forward to some warmth in Turkey. And then we will be back home to Winter. Hope the fire is on for Gary.
We wandered the streets for hours, found an interesting outdoor market, much cheaper than the big stores in the centre of the city.. We needed some more luggage, luckily with the round the world ticket we were allowed more.
Enjoyed some pancakes at a traditional pancake shop and we had pizza for dinner, still expensive nearly 30 euros for small pizza for 2 and soft drink
Very interesting museums, but just too many for our limited time, and we enjoyed looking around the pretty canals. There are bicycles everywhere, you really have to take care because they have right of way, they are encouraged to be used. We were surprised to see a multi-story car park full of bikes. It would be a worry finding yours at the end of the day, they all look rather similar.
The Dutch like other European countries take their dogs everywhere, made us homesick for our two. Catch up again in Istanbul.
