Regensburg
Well we are now in Germany, Bavaria. Lovely morning cruising, and then reached the town after lunch. Along the way we passed the memorial to German soldiers, "Walhalla", wondered if we had slipped into Greece, the style definatley belonged there. Each town we visit there is an included walking tour with local guides, very informative, but at times we rebel and do our own thing. It starts to be a bit like an ABC tour, (another bloody church) and many of the Aussies get a bit bored with all of this.
Regensburg had been the original capital of Bavaria from about 530 to the 13th century. Being a Saturday it was quite busy, several weddings, a Gay Mardi Gras parade, and a Gothic convention
Old buildings with their own towers, the living area separate to the tower. Depending on how rich you were, was how tall your tower was built.
Tonight the entertainment was 4 gorgeous young men who had been members of the St. Peters Dom Choir.
Each night after the entertainment we leave the ports and sail onto our next town.

Walhalla
. At least 100 young gothics parades through town in their black gear, and studs and spikes. They posed for photos on the steps of the Gothic Cathedral. Quite entertaining. Cuckoo clocks, bratwurst sausages, and lots of beer halls. Germans drink a lot of beer; some towns have as many breweries as churches.Old buildings with their own towers, the living area separate to the tower.
