Ok for anyone who may be going to Vietnam in the future do not stay in the Prince guesthouse! Flippin mental assylum. Got up at 8am, awake since God knows what time! We found our little heaven in the Sunshine 2 hotel on the Ma May. The rooms are fab and we got a power shower and a computer to boot! 3 of us in the room only $8 each!
Today was museum day. Headed off to the Museum of Ethnology. Our taxi driver was a bit confused about where it was so when a security guard put him right, this was before he did a U turn across a dual carriage way and then he reversed back down the one way main road we had just driven up! Anyway it turns out there are a gazillion hill tribe people in Vietnam, well 50 to count so far so we scooted around the museum. Outside there was carvings on display that you would put onto the gable end of the house in the hope of increasing fertility. Anyway look at the photos of these carvings and you will be SHOCKED! Locked up if you had these stuck on to your house in Ireland!
There was a cafe that we were looking for the past 2 days turns out it has moved to this place, its called baguette et chocolat, they take disadvantaged young people and train them up so they can make money for themselves. Anyway landed in ordered the grub, myself and Anouk were facing each other and Sheila was facing outside. Turns out Sheilas view was not so scenic, there was a mound of rubbish about 10 metres away and about 10-15 rats jumping all over the place running up and down he tree above it. Ya not good.
We escaped the rat fest and got  a taxi to the lake. Haom Kiem and had a nice walk around. We went ot the French area of the Old quarter and its fab down there. Mocha cafe has very nice cappuccino! We went to St James cathedral to say our prayers and got a cyclo back to the hotel. Restaurant 69 has fab food.
