What can I say, we have arrived in the most chaotic city in the world, we are culture shocked!! On arrival we met another Irish girl who was travelling alone plus a french guy. We all decieded to stay together in the guesthouse which the Irish girl knew already and she assured us it was clean and nice... not sure what she thought nice was because we got there and it is like Beirut!! However as it was getting dark we decided we would stay anyway. Next day we set off to the Grand Palace by Tuk Tuk... lunatic drivers mildly explains them... Palace and reclining buddha were lovely. We returned on ferry boat until Fiona nearly fell in only to be saved by the 'whistle boy'... it was priceless. Last night we met 4 Youghal boys, 2 americans and a couple of other random strangers (their nationalities were beyond us) who we went on to a nite club with. Nightclubs in Bangkok are a great experience and never close as we found out when leaving as it was bright out... it was 6.30am!!!!
In brief Bangkok is really smelly, very dirty, total mayhem with tuk-tuk drivers and excellent to bring out your bargaining skills!!! The weather is crazy hot with humidity that would kill a camel! Crossing the road here is a sport and not for the faint hearted....'thrill seekers paradise'....All in all we are loving it!!!!
