Two very ill girlies in Thailand today but we survived. Elvira was off diving and taking under water photos today so we all met up for something to eat this evening. A thai version of mexican.... interesting stuff but sure I would have eaten anything today! We were getting the night ferry at 8.30pm. It goes from koh Tao to Surat Thani and it takes about 9 hours to cross, you sleep on it and its cheap as chips. We got picked up at 8am on the famous pick up truck taxis!!! We had to get two umberellas to shield us from the rain. Some sight. Get to the boat, walked the plank and registered ourselves mental enough to even step onto this thing! OH MY GOD! BBBAAAADDDDD does not even describe my initial fellings. To describe it there are 50 people in a room. 25 people in a row opposite each other. There is a mattress for each person, its the width of your body no more and there is zero space between each mattress! First of all we got put beside two elderly Thai men. Well I was beside them and in the throws of a breakdown when Sheila went downstairs worked her magic and got us moved. Met up with more back packers and had a relatively peaceful sleep over. After that the toilet was the worst part. It was mad and I wish we had taken a photo but both of us were a little bit shocked and scared to wake the cock roaches. Anyway we landed in Surat Thani (mainland) at 5.30 so not too bad. Got our bus to Krabi adn met with Sheilas friends who are thai and who will be keeping us for the next couple of days.
