I think I might finally be a little bit homesick...

I cant figure out how to make an apostrophe on this computer, so pardon my terrible grammar.

Im tired of being stared at, and not being able to communicate very well. I would almost kill someone for a Tim Hortons iced cap.

I accidentally roasted all of my socks drying them over my heater last night in Huancavelica, and they literally became crispy and brown. I did not know that socks could even do that. Needless to say, I need to buy more, but I havent seen any so far.

The trip to Ayacucho was about 7 hours, plus a few delays for road construction and the Ayacucho department police (who made our drivers give them money before they would let us pass - which was basically stealing from them, but I guess they get away with it, since they are the police). We had a 4800 metre pass, which is always great "fun". The scenery was nice, but the dust was not. The first 5 hours was on unpaved gravel road. Gravel roads in Canada dont hold a candle to the ones in Peru, and it doesnt help that the drivers careen down them as if they were driving rally cars (when in reality, they are driving broken, ancient, barely-running pieces of crap). Well, I guess now I understand why all the cars here are in such bad shape. I dont really know how our car didnt blow up randomly, or at least get a flat or SOMETHING.

The sad thing is, the trip was only about 240 kilometres, but with the gravel roads, it took, yes, 7 hours.

Ayacucho seems nice. Slightly lower in elevation, at about 2700 metres. Lots of students here, lots of churches, and nice (warmer) weather. Very busy, and obviously bigger than Huancavelica. Google it, to see what it was the birthplace of (hehe), and you will understand why there arent too many tourists.

Had the best piece of cheesecake Ive ever eaten at a local cafe. It was flavored after a local fruit... the name escapes me, but I do know that we dont have it, back home. Anyway, it was sooo good, as was the glass of papaya-strawberry juice I had with it.

Did laundry in my sink... yay...

Hmmm.

Dont know yet what tommorrow will bring. I think were going to take a combi out to some ruins or something.

About pictures, it might be easiest for me to just add them once I get home. I never seem to get the chance to upload any more of them!
