We got a late start and had some lunch around the corner.  It was a sleepy beachy kinda day and the house cat for the restaurant pretty much summed it up.  The local coffee roaster did a fine job making some nice strong cups of joe to start the day.

Our plans for today were simple: spend as much time in the water as we can.

We headed back to Miguel Antonio beach but got stopped at the gate.  Apparently there is a strict alcohol free policy.  We finally got into the preserve and Sheena saw her favorite howler monkey.  There was one rather endowed monkey that we saw on the previous day (it was difficult not to notice) but I didn't snap a pic.  Look through the pics at the bottom to see the monkey we named Huevo.

We saw more monkeys, a jesus lizard, some deer-like animal, bats and assorted birds.

The water was perfect and the sand was nice and soft.  We swam for a while and i noticed a sharp pain in my arm.  It ran down my right arm and it felt like needles everywhere.  I took a look at it and dealt with it.  It hurt for maybe a minute or so and then subsided.  It left some rash-like bumps all over my arm but it all went away in about an hour.

We noticed a local girl got stung or bitten as well.  We asked and they said its something they call "String of Gold".  No idea what that is....  No biggie, just a minor inconvenience.  We swam the day away and then headed back to town.

We walked to the shore and watched the sunset then went to grub.  In honor of Joe Aguirre, we ordered Paella for dinner and it had a nice variety of sea critters.  Sheena was really into the tempura string beans.

We headed back to the hotel and turned in relatively early.  There is a pretty long trek tomorrow so sleep was welcomed...
