We first went to the Royal Delft factory one of only two remaining places where Delft pottery is still hand made and hand painted by master artists. They use the original secret formula for painting on the design which looks black before the final firing after which it turns bright blue (see picture),
Hopefully I have figured out why I was losing so many blogs and photos - internet is very slow and I think I signed off before everything had downloaded.
We had a beautiful day in Delft
The boat is really great. I am in the "basement" or pretty much at the water line with two windows at the top of the compartment but these are the only singles and I am hardly ever in the room (except when I was sick). There is also a large wide screen TV with live news channels from all over the world and about 100 movies you can watch along with dozens of music channels. This was great the day I was so sick and did not go out.
The food has been really wonderful and beautifully presented. There are two choices of where to eat - the big dining room or a much smaller buffet on the upper deck, more casual - I went there once when they were grilling steaks - very tasty.
I have taken some pictures of the different meals and will try to include them. There is always a hot or cold appetizer course, then soup (the most interesting and delicious was a cream of mustard soup - we asked the chef for the recipe and he said the base was cream of asparagus with 3 different kinds of mustard mixed in - yummy).
