On Halloween Day we took the kids for a little trick or treating down the street. I thought it was pretty nice that some of the vendors were willing to hand out candy. The kids definitely had fun. The first few pictures are of the kids in the court yard, taken from the third floor I believe [where we were finishing setting up the haunted house]. After the parade, [I was completely sweating], the poor little boy in the duck costume had to change his clothes as he was drenched, the rest of us settled in for some games. Then all the foreign teachers had to get ready in the haunted house. Now I've been dreading for the past month that the kids were going to call us out for being lame but most of them were scared. There were lots of tears, some only got as far as through the tunnel entrance way when Talitha reached out for them dressed as a skeleton and they ran back out. Numerous times I crouched down and shone a light in my face so they felt brave enough to step out of the tunnel, even then they ran through. Theresa was next in the house she was sitting among the stuffed bodies so as the kids walked past she'd reach out at them. Then Nick was next, wearing no costume trying to give the kids a candy, by that point they were having none of that, later he said maybe about 5 kids overall stopped long enough to see the candy. Joe [the Director's husband] was up there with us dressed like an old lady, Sam was wearing like a werewolf mask and large cloak. She had some sort of rattle which brought screams from the kids that had made it through. We kinda thought we were going to get in trouble, but the kids were still pretty excited to tell us about the haunted house after the tears dried.Friday night we went out to play some darts, then on Saturday afternoon we went out for some ball hockey. We tried to have as lazy of an early evening as we could as then we headed to 'Orange Pub' for the big foreigner Halloween Party. There were two foreign bands playing [which apparently is extremely rare in Chiayi. Anyways, we had a great time, and here are some of us all dressed up! Happy Halloween!
