So, Matthew and I began our first day as husband and wife by going out to breakfast, where we both ordered the banana pancakes.  Unbeknownst to us at the time of ordering, these were actually the largest pancakes in the history of the world.  Seriously, Paul Bunyan could not have finished these pancakes!  (And for those who share in my slight case of hypochondria, I swear our server had SARS.  She kept coughing and it was all I could do to not flee the restaurant and run off in search of the nearest carbon-filtered mask!).
And then we went (Elise, this one's for you) to the BEACH!  The sun was out, the water was clear and we were properly slathered in SPF 30.  And we are lucky enough to have some great snorkeling right around our condo.  Matthew threw on his mask and was off to hunt some treasure....he came up with some pretty cool shells and even some pieces of coral (Moser, thanks for the hint about purchasing our own snorkeling gear!)  And he managed to spy some fish too.
After a little evening shopping in downtown Lahaina, we are hoping to get a good night's sleep...we have a big day tomorrow...a snorkeling tour with a marine biologist!
Since we didn't take any pictures of us on the beach today, we are posting some pictures of the whales that we have managed to spot in the ocean right outside our condo (look close). Pretty amazing...and we didn't even have to get on a boat to see them!  Enjoy!
