Thursday 2nd December 2004
Got up early to catch the bus to Ayr, a small town, that only really attracts backpackers who are here to work, picking mango's - accordingly, the hostel is a bit of a dive, and there is not a lot to do here!

Friday 3rd December 2004
Got up to do what I came here for, my last diving in Australia (in theory!)

Sppedboat to the SS Yongala, a passenger ship that sank in 1910, killing about 120 people, who still lie there!

Heavily coral encrusted, and positively swarming with fish - and very big fish - a queensland groupe, which was bigger than me, as well as sea snakes (awesome!), turtles, and many other fish.

This was a deep dive as well - most of the dive around 20 metres, peaking at 27 metres, but did well in not over using my air...though could still improve! Current on the return is very strong...thats why I had to swim hard on the way up...

In between dives, notice bird had landed on the water about 20 metres from the boat - and whilst we were all trying to work out what it was, a tiger shark worked it out - lunch - took one bite (it was a big bird!) - and let it float a while longer, and took the final chunk - excellent! - couldnt wait to get in the water again!

Second dive saw again lots of big big fish, and looked around the wreck a bit more (your not allowed to go inside). For amount and variety of fish, probably the best dive so far (thats 26 so far!)
