Left La Serena and headed north before turning off PanAmerica towards coast. Took 2 hour boat trip and awtched dolphins swim and jump all around us. Headed to offshore island to gwt up close to rocks with basking and spitting sealions. Then witnessed cormorant and Humbolt penguin colonies. Oh and there were a few pelicans flying around for good measure. A unique place, where you can get penguins and cacti in the same photograph.  After tow hours of this we landed on the smallest but still unihabitated island with the least wildlife for some lunch.

After leaving here it was onto Copiaco for supplies ready for two nights in a chalet at Bahia Ingles (discovered by an Englishman, hence the name).  Chalet great with me sleeping in apex roof space accessed by precarious ladder.

And all 70m from the beach.
