St Georges Day, Santiago

Back into Santiago and again into the Casa Rojo. How I´ve missed this place. Gaetan is still here waiting to get a flight to LA (he is in fact in the bunk below me) but it seems that the Dengue Fever kid appears to have finally moved on.
I have dinner with some of the Pachamama survivors next door in the excellent Platipus restaurant and then retire to the Casa Roja garden bar with my freshly bought bottle of Balduzzi Late Harvest 2005 - picked up at the only notable stop of the last day of the tour. I manage not to stay up beyond 1am as very tired. The bar music is hijacked by the English barman, Chris, who demands patriotic tunes to honour St Georges Day, much to the consternation of some of the Irish - but it´s all done in good humour. Chris puts up a fake diploma of honour in the name of England on the fridge door, listing her achievments. He ahs also has gone the whole hog personally, fashioning his beard into a handlebar special with sideburns, representing high Victorian fashion at the zenith of the British Empire. We enjoy the Beatles, Blur, the Rolling Stones, Kinks, New Order and Margate by Chas and Dave. Class
