So after spending a few days in Athens getting our feet on the ground we booked a ferry ticket to Naxos for last Sunday. The ferry was empty which was good and it allowed us to stetch out and relax for the 4 and a half hour trip. We got to Naxos and there were people EVERYWHERE with signs for their hotels but we already had one organised. They took us through the small windey streets to our digs for the next 3 nights (which wasn't the one we originally booked, but was better!). We were only 50m from the main beach, and on the edge of the town, a short walk to everything. The next day we hired two scooters and went around the island.

After following the bike shop's bum steer, we changed course and went throught the mountains up to the north of the island to a small town for some fresh barracuda by the beach. Lunch

Lisa decided she is imune to the sun's rays and didn't need any sun protection, and is now doing her lobster imitation. Ouch

We spent the next couple of days taking it easy, island style.

Yesterday (Wednesday) we caught another ferry to Santorini, which is the remnants of a volcano. The main island the the nearby islands form a broken circle, with the inner edge the rim of the caldera (inside the volcano). They have built their buidings right up to and over the edges of the cliffs and it is pretty spectacular. This island is a bit more touristy and busy though and we are already looking forward to leaving on Saturday. They do tours out to the other islands and there are themal pool and stuff which we may do tomorrow. Caldera
