We left for Cairns the next morning and met Siobhan and Anthony for dinner and drinks. The queue outside the Woolshed was crazy so we went to PJ O'Briens, surprise surprise an Irish pub! They also do a 10 dollar deal for dinner so that suited out pockets! It was ladies night again and there was free bubbly from 10-11 so myself and Siobhan didn't say no. We had a great night with them again - next time we'll see them will be back home!
Port Douglas is defo the richer relation of Cairns - there are lots of lovely boutiques there and pricey restaurants but its really nice with a lovely holiday resort feel to it. We were wreaked the first night so we had dinner in. Friends we met in South America arrived that day too so we arranged to meet them for lunch the next day. We stocked up in Coles and we went over to the park and the lads got the sausages on the barbie - our first aussie barbie! Its a really cool facility that they have free BBQs at parks. We had a great afternoon catching up and swapping our stories from the road since South America. They headed to Cairns and we decided to go for a jog - I am keeping it up so I'm delighted. Afterwards we decided to treat ourselves to dinner out - its a rarity these days in Australia! There is a lovely little church in Port Douglas called St. Marys by the sea - its tiny but so cute. I went in and couldn't believe the view inside - by the alter is a picture window looking out over the sea - gorgeous! So that was our time in Port Douglas - short but sweet!
