Where I stayed

We arrived last night (Wed night) in Sao Paolo at about 8,30pm (an hour later than scheduled due to unreal traffic coming into the city). The bus journey was 7 hours even though we did have a few stops on route-we taught we were lucky when they started showing the film ´The Terminal´in English but then 5 mins into it some guy comes up and changes it to Portuguese-fair enough I suppose. Shar was having none of it but I tried to continue watching it in Portuguese but gave up after 40 mins or so. The journey was fine thank god even though I can't seem to sleep on buses but please god I will tomorrow night when we go on an overnighter to Iguasu Falls (15 hours ride I think).
On the bus we got talking to the girls from Ireland and they gave us their email and great details on accommodation etc in Buenos Aires and Foz de Iguasu where we are going next. We also got chatting to a guy after we got to Sao Paolo who lives there and he had good English so he directed us on how to get to the hostel. After a quick metro ride and taxi trip of 2 mins we got to our hostel to be greeted outside by a boy of about 5 or 6 begging and it was also raining so not the best start we thought.
The hostel is OK- at first I was not too impressed but I'm getting used to it- there is a pool table and hang out area so good vibe in here but the smell in room was fowl to say the least and the city just kind of makes u feel wary and you are always on alert!
There is a hilarious guy on reception though- I think he has taken a shining to either me, shar or maybe both of us-he is overly nice-ah not in a bad way but even there I ordered an hours internet and it wasn't working so eventually he sorted it and gave me almost 4 hours worth?? Nice fella though he seems lol. Very helpful which is great to be fair-he seems to work 24-7 though the poor fella.
Today we decided to check the city out but to be honest it does not merit much typing. It has a population of 11 million and I'm sure there's loads of interesting stuff here but not for us-its all art museums and its just like a huge brick city-there are also a lot of homeless people downtown where we are staying(we were told to avoid here though but we came here anyway-downtown I mean). We ended up getting to a shopping centre which was very mod and cool so we ate there and then came back here where we will chill for the night. Bus is booked for tomorrow evening to Foz de Iguasu at 6pm so we will just relax here til then!!!!
