Monday 19 – Sunday 25. Cruising up the inside passage aboard the Celebrity Mercury ship. I think both Kevin and I were a bit unsure how this would be for us, but we had a great time and really could not fault the experience at all. The boat was big but not overcrowded, so we rarely felt like we were just part of a huge throng of people, not even at the ports when we disembarked. The food was great, especially considering how many people they are catering for. The entertainment was great – not at all cheesy, and our cabin was bijou but well laid out and anyway we did not spend much time in there anyway! We saw lots of wildlife and amazing scenery and the awesome (yes really!!) Hubbard glacier. We had a naturalist on board who gave talks every day, and environmental talks too – so that was excellent. They also put on activities to do during the day such as painting classes, galley tours, wine appreciation, most of which was included, so we did that as well as the gym and exercise classes. We had port stops at Icy Strait Point, Jeaune and Ketchikan. All in all a really good time.
