It hit me during a particularly relaxed point stretched out in the sun listening to good music while I was kind of dozing - how hard it is going to be to say goodbye to everyone. I'm not good at this emotional stuff. I'm not sure what I want to do about a tearful goodbye scene at the airport. Oh well, I guess that's just part of the deal.
Back to packing - I'm working on the kitchen today. Anyone need a used microwave or a slightly used juicer?
OK - really getting down to the final stretch here. 14 days to go. I'm having a hard time getting into the packing mode today because Sue (my sister) and I spent the last few days rocking and relaxing at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. It was a last minute decision to go but I'm really glad we did. I needed a break from all the lists and packing / moving stuff. We got to see a lot of The Nields (best band in the world) and some of my other favorite musicians. It was just a great atmosphere to be in and the people there are other crunchy-tree-hugger-hippie types. I got some good reading material - including a book of stories by Pete Seeger - cool! And bought some great CDs so that I won't miss the festival too much in the next few years. I took lots of pictures too so maybe I'll post some if I get a chance.
