Trip To Fiji
Entry 4 of 7 | show all | print this entry |
This trip was actually my Mum and Dad's honeymoon and they took me with them, I was 5 years old. I remember Fiji being very beautiful and very hot and the people being very friendly. My memories are few, but the ones I do have are pretty unique. I remember being at the bar of the resort we were staying at talking to a group of 18 to 20 year old girls teaching them all about the Solar System and it's planets(once a nerd always a nerd), while they plyed me with pineapple juices for a few hours to keep me talking. Another vivid memory was of being on a ferry going from Nadi to Plantation Island, with a Fijian band being the ferry entertainment. I was singing along to them playing their guitars and drums, then they decided to hand me the microphone. Being 5 years old the only song I knew off by heart was the Aussie National Anthem, Advance Australia Fair, which I sang in front of the entire ferry. I also remember going into the water just before a storm with two Fijian kids and playing in the surf with them while it rained, after which I watched in amazement as one of them climbed a palm tree about ten feet high using nothing but hands and feet and retrieving a coconut.
