New York, New York. So nice, they named it twice!
All in all, we had a wonderful time, and were sad to go. Although we weren't sad to leave the cockroaches behind!
Well, New York was a great way to end our trip. We got to visit friends, see some sights, and eat some delicious bagels! First we went to our friends Liz and Eric's apartment in Brooklyn and got settled in. The next day, we went to the Bronx Zoo. It was great, because we got to see some animals that we didn't get to see at the National Zoo in DC. The two highlights we probably the Sea Lion show, and the Tiger show, at which the animals did lots of cool tricks (inspired by food, of course). That night, we went to the Museum of Modern Art. Marina Abramovic was the artist in residence. Her performance art was quite unique to say the least. In order to enter the exhibit, we had to walk through a naked man and woman standing so close together that we had to side step our way by. There were lots of naked people, but some of the exhibits were quite moving (and naked). Downstairs, the artist herself was present. She sat in a chair, and there was a long line of people waiting to sit the the chair opposite, and stare at her for as long as they could take it. After that we had some dinner, and some very expensive cheesecake. The next day, Jen went to have lunch with her former colleague, Agata. Later, we all went to dinner with Ryan McBride, Shane's former roommate, proceeded by a Broadway musical, Avenue Q (even though technically we saw it off-Broadway).
