Yesterday we drove through Death Valley.  It was hot.  Actually is was quite cool compared to the summer, when it can get up to 135F in the shade!  We saw a canyon, mountains, sand dunes, and salt plains.  The salt plains are weird because from a distance they look like snow, or a lake, but it's just salt as far as the eye can see.  The coolest part was Artist's Drive, which was a mountain range with a wild variety of colored rocks.
Last night we arrived at the Stratosphere, the tallest building west of the Mississippi River.  It has a casino, lots of restaurants, and three rides at the top of the tower.  They happen to be the first, second, and third highest thrill rides in the world.  The very first thing we did after we checked into our room was ride the elevator to the 108th floor, where the observation deck is.  Oh yeah, and did we mention that our room has a view of the strip?  It's sweeeeet.
Today we drove down the strip and went to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign. Then we walked around Paris, Planet Hollywood, and the Bellagio.  We even got to see one of the Bellagio's famous water fountain shows timed to music.  They did the Pink Panther and Singing in the Rain.  Tonight we're gonna have a night out on the town.  Tomorrow we'll probably hang out by the pool all day, and Wednesday we're going to see Cirque du Seleil.
We probably won't post again until Thursday since the internet here is expensive and sssllllloooooow.  They must do it on purpose so we spend more time in the casino!
