After emailing Pablo re his impending trip to Peru and the fact that some of my readers may be interested to hear where I'm up to, I decided to log in and provide an update.

I'm really excited at the prospect of Pablo visiting one of three of my favourite destinations on Earth... Peru.  Peru belies imagination and my reflections of travelling through this region just make me ache for more!  I will return!  I can re-live it through Pablo.

The year is progressing well... have moved to Northam which is one hour away from Perth.  It's great being able to drive to Perth on the weekends whilst I work as a deputy here in Northam.  The kids are great here and I find the people a lot more friendlier.

At the end of the year, I have booked my return back to South East Asia - I promised myself a return within 2 to 3 years of last visiting so I'm wrapped that I'm able to do it.  It will be a quick 4 week trip but the cheap fares of AirAsia.com mean that I can travel great distances at low cost.
My trip will be as follows:
26.12 Perth to Singapore Qantas (Frequent Flyer Ticket)
27.12 Singapore to Phuket with Air Asia for New Year's Eve.  I plan on revisiting Maya Bay and Phi Phi.  I spent my 32nd birthday in Phuket back in 2006 and couldn't have hoped for more - it was absolutely fantastic to meet Tri so hope he still works in the same bar where I met him.
3.1 Phuket to Bangkok with Air Asia.  Need I say more... Bangkok, like Melbourne are my second homes.  Can't wait to return.  Wish I could spend weeks there.
10.1 Bangkok to Phnom Penh with Air Asia.  Such a magical place... I love Phnom Penh.
15.1 Travel to Siem Reap on the bus (about 6 hours)... three nights to explore Angkor Watt and the town.
19.1 Siem Reap to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia.  It will be wonderful to return to KL... I wish I had more time to be able to go back to Taman Negara and Penang - next visit.  (The main aim of this trip is to go back to Cambodia to see Angkor Watt so that will take time).
24.1 KL to Singapore with Air Asia.  Party up hard in China Town before heading back to Perth.
25.1 Singapore to Perth with Qantas - a cheap fare booked in March - around $S400.

You don't need tours for South East Asia - it is so easy to travel this region.  Given that I'll have more dollars, I'll be able to live it up a lot more in my favourite destinations.  Can't wait!

Wishing everyone one of my readers happy and safe travels.  Travelling is the best thing that we can do whilst on this Earth - it opens us up to new relationships, new places, new cultures, new interests and new experiences to last a life time.

Retrun to SEAsia
Don't forget to to call me when you are in KL... and this time I hope it won't be a call from the airport on transit! Cheers
