I can't believe how fast 2007 has flone by.  To think that this time last year, I was in southern Chile blows my mind.

Now and again, I refer back to this site to see where I was and what I was doing - such fantastic reading once you are back into the swing of work.

Since I last wrote, I picked up an acting principal's position in Greenbushes which is 250km south east of Perth.  I've got 8 weeks left of work this year before I begin contemplating travelling again.  My trip through Central America is all confirmed and paid for - just a waiting game now.

I've spent the last two weeks of school holidays pretty much working - I've still got a nagging credit card from last year that I'm trying to pay off.  I had the pleasure of deciding whether or not teachers in our system deserved a promotion to level 3 teacher - a pay rise of about $10,000, extra half a day to engage in school-level leadership and the bragging rights. But I've done well this year with getting my debt down to a low level.  Makes all that spending last year seem totally irrelevant now.

Thought I'd update this blog with a bit of an update since it's been a while now.  But there is nothing better than hitting the road - I find being in the one spot, working day in, day out totally boring compared to what I did last year.  I must say that, despite all the drinking last year, I was so much healthier - both in body and mind.  A real positive of travelling.  I have so many stories to tell people who have a love of travelling - and a person who gets me in a conversation re travel lights up my day and can get me talking non stop.

I had a feeling your 1-year adventure log would reach this milestone. I kept my eye on the number of total visits and I have to say I am quite impressed. Congrats!!
