Hi everyone, and thank you to those people who continue to read my blog.  From experience, I like to read about what has happened to people after their long journeys around the world, hence a further entry to keep all my readers informed.

Well, I have finished term 1 and I am now back on holidays.  I have decided to spend the two weeks in my favourite city, Melbourne.  I arrived here last night at 7pm, caught the excellent skybus ($15 to Southern Cross Station), and then made a mad rush to my hotel, the Citigate Hotel opposite Flinder's Station with a taxi.  By 8pm, I was out on the town with Clint... a local.  The flight was ok, with outstanding and friendly service.  I really appreciate it when flight attendants make an effort to talk to you.  The food was great but my seat was a little awkward in that I couldn't see out of the window.  It made taking off and landing nerve wracking.  The landing was quite messy.

Melbourne is hosting the International Comedy Festival at this time.  Last night, I spent several hours watching several outstanding acts including the Naked Rascist.  It was very rude but funny.  The comedian stripped down completely at the end... a sight that I've never seen in any of my travels.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  The crowd lost it.  Such great stuff.

I'm staying at the Citigate Hotel... an outstanding, new style hotel at good rates.  I scored a rate of $109 a night for the next 3 nights off wotif.com.au.  I'm transferring to the Claremont Hotel in South Yarra on Tuesday.

It's a busy time for me here... I have several people to catch up with.  I'll be hitting St Kilda tonight with my friend Dean who moved here from Perth a couple of years ago.  The weather is absolutely gorgeous here... not too hot, not too cold.  In the 20s.  Perfect for exploring the outdoors here.  I'm really tired though... last night was full on, and I woke up with a huge hangover.

The last term has flown by... but it's been difficult, especially with an entire week being in the mid to high 40s... it was 48 degrees celsius on one day.  Absolutely unbearable and uncomfortable.  I can't stand the hot weather, so found it refreshing to walk in 9 degree coolness last night after the show.

Really glad that I have two weeks here... going to make the most of it.
