Is it a clear blue sky... maybe not!

When I woke up this morning, at a very lazy hour of 11am, I looked out and law and behold... a beautiful, clear blue sky. I rushed through my breakfast, walked down to Capacabana Ave and caught the 2 hour bus through the mayhem of Rio´s traffic to the Christ Statue. But... as I was bussing it through Rio, the clouds came and when I arrived, there was no point in going up given that the statue was covered in cloud... BLOODY HELL! Nevertheless, I have figured out how to get there and the costs involved. Fellow tourists note... beware of the overpriced tour guides wanting your business for 70 reals. They will take you to two additional stops but this is well overpriced. The train to the top costs 36 real ($20). I will do this when I have a perfectly blue clear sky... if ever! I am so looking forward to seeing the city from the statue... but will Rio ever have a clear blue sky when I´m here? I have 14 days to go.
Stupid me... I got on the wrong bus coming back. Instead of getting the 584, I got on the 583 (same bus that got me there). This number 584 took me to the Botanical Gardens... no problem given that the park was beautiful. But trying to get a bus from the park back to Ipanema was hard... I attempted one and the driver spoke to me in Portuguese... I tried to say ´no entendi... ingles´(I don´t understand... English). But he continued to speak Porgueuse... what the? Honestly, the language barrier is doing my head in and I can´t wait to get back to an English speaking country... I am now ready to go back to Australia... 12 months travel is definitely my limit (financially, physically and emotionally). I felt so defeated that I simply got in a taxi and rode the 15 real ($6) taxi back to Ipanema. After a stunning view of Ipanema´s sunset and a delicious Extravaganza pizza from Dominoes, I had a quiet night watching TV, undisturbed, in my apartment (best thing about not being in a hostel). I hope to check out Cero Cero´s nightclub tonight... my apartment owner recommended it as being good on Thursdays! God... please let me have a clear blue sky soon!!!! The beach and sites await me.
