Today I received the sad news of the passing of a friend in my home town, Carnarvon. I would like to dedicate this entry to the memory of Clarrie, the husband of my colleague and friend Gail. Clarrie's kindness and gentleness will not be forgotten. Gail, may the beautiful pictures of Morocco bring you a glitter of solitude during this very difficult time. My arms also go out to people reading this from Carnarvon who are also dealing with this sad news. Rest in peace Clarrie in the beautiful arms of our god father in the skies overlooking this amazing world.

Today was spent travelling to Ouarzaate, a desert outpost which houses the Atlas film studios. We also travelled to Ait Benhaddou, the Kasbah town that has featured in many of my favourite movies such as Gladiator and Jesus of Nazareth
We visited a Kasbah in Ait Benhaddou. We were very tired... very difficult listening to a guided tour after so many hours of driving.
But the hotel, Hotel le Kasbah is situated in a small village made up of several small fortresses, kasbahs etc. Many filmakers have been attracted to the beauty of this area such as Lawrence of Arabia.
I feel honoured to have been able to visit this amazing spot.
