I've returned to being a two finger typist because the French have decided to mix up all the letters on the keyboard. I even have to press the shift key for the full stop. This is what my first sentence would of looked like if I had of used touch typing...
Iùve returned to being q tzo finger typist becquse the French hqve decided to ,ix up qll the letters on the keyboqrd1 Well, I've arrived in Paris, feeling a little better from two nights ago. The cold and flu tablets are working great. My train left Berlin at 10.49am, transferred in Cologn which looks like a beautiful city, and finally arrived into Paris at 8pm. Transferring to my hotel was a sinch using the very efficient Paris underground and the use of a city map I brought at the train station for 2.20 euros. The high speed Thalys train I used on the second leg of the trip was a fantastic experience... up to 300km an hour (the fastest I've ever travelled on the ground) and I was served a very nice French dinner. But the people in the carriage were stuck up and unfriendly. This train cost an extra 26 euro on top of my eurail pass.
I'm staying at the Doisy Hotel, a few hundred metres from the Arc De Triomph. Talk about a great deal for 45 euros a night. I have my own shower AND bath and breakfast is included. The room is a good size and the hotel's communal areas are very well decked out. I can highly recommend it. After checking in, I walked to the Arc De Triomph and walked up and down the main artery, Avenue Des Champs Elysees. An exquisite area with all the top brands, and an abundance of cafes. This two finger typing is doing my head in so will sign off for now. Off to do the Louve Museum tomorrow. Will try to do something about uploading the 200 or so photos I've got stored, but I'm finding that the European internet cafes are no where as good as the South East Asian ones.
