Loving Perth... and all things Australian. It absolutely rocks that Australia has made it through to the second round of the World Cup. It makes it exciting to think that I will be in Germany in a fortnight to pick up on some of the atmosphere. It's never been a better time to be Aussie. Go Socceroos.

That's right... I basically made my mind to return travelling on my first day back in Australia... thanks to Qantas and the fact that they will not be refunding any money on my ticket. I aim to complete the itinerary, even if its for a much shorter time. Given that all flights from Santiago to Sydney are booked out in the month of December, I had to lock in November 26 as my return to Australia which does not phase me one bit. I love the idea of spending a month on the east coast of Australia to catch up with my sister in QLD, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. By then, I'll probably be ready to put my travelling boots up anyway. I doubt that I will do a long trip like this ever again. But I needed to do it to get it out of my system!

It's been great catching up with everyone here, including a short 3 day stint in the country. I took Pat up on her opportunity to visit her at her new school... a Level 4 primary at Leeman. A beautiful school, Pat offered me the opportunity to get back into the classroom for 1 day of relief. Amazing to think at how fast the teaching skills come flooding back after 10 minutes of being there. To say the least, I'm not ready to go back, and whilst I enjoyed working with the kids, I'd prefer to be travelling at this point of my life:) Seeing the kangaroos on the road between Geraldton and Leeman validated that I was back home! It's really great being back, and I think I couldn't have made a better decision to return home for a bit of time... thanks James for your encouragement to return! So glad I did. The weather aint that bad here... clear blue skies today and its winter... I'd say its about 20 degrees... but the nights have been extremely cold. My first night back was -0.4 degrees, and most other nights have hovered around the 0 to 5 degree mark.

So I will return to London on 3rd July for 1 night, and then Amsterdam for maybe 5 nights. I'm taking a different backpack... slashing what I take - will take very little clothing. I don't want to be burdened by the extra kgs, especially in South America. Looking forward to using my Eurail around Europe and achieving another life long dream of hitting Spain and Portugal. The Portuguese and Spanish people I've met are absolutely fantastic... can't wait to visit their countries and meet more locals.

Until next time, thanks for logging in to this unreal site...
