I'm definitely wearing the effects of my 13 hour flight from Hong Kong to London... I am very much jet lagged so will keep this entry to letting everyone know that I've arrived here in England... staying at the YHA Hostel on Oxford Street in Soho for the weekend. Today is extra long for me given that England is 7 hours behind China... I'm still operating on Hong Kong time. As I write, it is 1.15am. I've got a few more hours till I can legitimately crash.

Needless to say, I loved the flight with Cathay Pacific. The service, food and entertainment was excellent. The flight actually went very quickly.

I had no problems with entering the country, even though I was interrogated by customs re my travel plans. Luckily, I could prove my onward flights with the RTW ticket. They were also interested in whether I had family and/or friends here... luckily I could answer 'yes' to both.

I'll write more later... I'm feeling a bit nauseus, my head is spinning and I need a shower:)

Hope all is well wherever you are around this amazing world:)

Welcome to England!
Hi Shane,

Great to hear you've finally reached Blighty! You've timed it perfectly as well - it's even been sunny recently!

What are your plans in the UK? If you're visiting Bath, let me know, cause I work there and we could meet up for a few jars.

Enjoy the rest of your trip - and keep an eye on that passport! :p

Bath is on the agenda!
Hey Steve,
Nice to hear from you. I've recently checked out your revised web page and it truly reflects your amazing IT skills and knowledge. I am planning to visit Bath... glad to hear you're in the vicinity. A few pints would be a definite goer! Also hope to meet up with Dave who I met in Vietnam who lives in Bristol. Probably head out there week 2 of my time here. It's so refreshing being in London... like De Ja Vu... I've been wanting to come back here ever since I left it in 2000. Cheers, Shane.
