We trekked for 1 hour before catching our transfer vehicle back to civilisation (Zhongwei).
Even though I fell off the camel, I loved the desert experience. I love doing it rough now and again - but it was damn good returning to Zhongwei for our long awaited shower and laundry. I spoilt myself by getting a full Chinese shampoo, head massage and shave for 100 yuan ($18) - definitely not as good as the Vietnamese experience, but still good after roughing it for 2 nights. The desert experience meant going without a shower and change of clothes for 3 days.
We spent most of the day in Zhongwei before boarding yet another overnight to Xian, home of the Terracotta Warriors. Our train journey to Xian is due to take 11 hours.
