Anyhoo, not to go on and on - and it was a long time ago - but what I remember is that it was COOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD. I may have been naive and thinking a couple of days up near the arctic circle will be fine, easy, but as you can imagine it was NOT. I was cold to my bones and after making it to the warm large hostel that had rooms stretching as far as the eye could see - a little factory like - we went out and wandered around town. The city had a bright white light from the sun, freezing cold wind and very clear air. The city was clean and orderly and we checked out a few bars and went on a walk that meant we saw a lake and parkland that seemed to be exciting to the Finnish, and a nice church on a hill.
After cold rainy Estonia I got quite sick in Finland and Shane had to hear my bleats and lamenting for hours as we wandered the streets looking at cold sights. (sorry Shane)
Though the city was nice, it was just so cold and yet we didnt see snow or the Northern Lights so we probably need to go back to Finland and do that.
