This will be my first attempt at a travel blog, so I hope it is entertaining!
I last visited Germany in 2006, visiting Leipzig and Dresden - both wonderful. But this time I'm off to Berlin for a long weekend of museums, galleries and culture. I was last there in 1990, so it's about time I returned there.
I have my trusty motorhome, a little under three years old now, and I'll be travelling on 30th August by ferry from Hull to Rotterdam, then driving across Holland, and across north Germany.
I don't have a fixed route yet - I think the best holidays are where you say "I'll go in that direction" but without a list of roads to follow.
So today I'm getting the van ready. With so much storage space you're always tempted to take everything you own, so you have to exercise some restraint.
