My second visit to Lima! This time I planned stay a little longer. My expectations were low coming here as many travellers I had met said it wasnīt great or they couldnīt figure it out. They were blown right out of the water when I arrived in Miraflores, the richest part of Lima. The closest comparison I have is Manhatten. The streets and general feel of the place are very similar and the people are even a bit snobby! I donīt have photos as you might remember I broke my camera sandboarding. I spent most of my time trying to find a place to fix my camera, looking for literature for my impending boat journies to Manaus and strolling the beach. On Thursday morning I purchased a flight for Friday night to Iquitos. Unfortunately I was unable to find anybody who could fix my camera by Friday evening so I was left with no choice but to purchase a new one. Luckily a department store in the centre of Miraflores had a reasonable collection at pretty good prices. Again this is somewhere I could have happily stayed a bit longer but I knew if I had any chance of making it to Manaus by boat I had to leave as soon as possible.
