Toaday was a long day on a coach. We set off at about 8.45 in the rain and the first stop was at a salmon farm for coffees etc (Don't ask me why they take you to a fish farm, guess it's the only place en-route or the have shares in it!).

We passed through some amazing scenery which thankfully we got to appreciate after the sun came out. Unfortunately, next to no photos were possible as you just ended up taking reflections of the coach window.

Our route took us down the wild West Coast and then cut South East across the mountains towards Lake Wanaka and eventually into Queenstown. Lots of mountains, some with snow even though it's still early, lots of glacial valleys and big lakes. The further South East we went the more the weather improved - although Queenstown is actually even colder than Fox Glacier.

We arrived in Queenstown about 4.30pm. We went straight to the Tourist Information Centre and managed to book a hotel and the trip to Milford Sound for Saturday. After a walk along the lakeshore, some shopping and a huge Italian meal we staggered back to our lakeside hotel.
