Today we immersed ourselves completely in the culture of South East Asia and went to Disneyland Hong Kong.

It was a very sunny and warm day with fairly high humidity - ideal for standing in long queues.

A short MTR journey back to Lantau Island and we're at the gates - of hell?

Sarah spent the entire day in "four year old" mode. Shane was much more calm and relaxed (miserable and sulky were two other words suggested). His comment was "it's just like being at work, look there's Grumpy, Dozey and Goofy - just like being in the office".

We spent the entire day there (doing every single sappy ride and none of the scarey ones), right through to closing time The Hong Kong skyline

. This included the evening parade - featuring Disney villains and zombies (think accountants with personality and dress sense) - and the fairly impressive fireworks.

Disney is, of course, artificial, overly orderly, has rules on behaviour, everyone smiles and the news is always good. That reminds me, we're off the the People's Republic of China tomorrow.

The plan for tomorrow is to wander around Hong Kong Island for a few hours (there are a couple of minor things to see) and then we have a short flight to mainland China - Xian, gateway to the Terracotta Warriors.
