We had a lazy morning and then took a ferry over to Cheung Chau , one of the neighbouring islands. The guide book had suggested it was quiet with 2 beaches and no cars so in our heads we had both imagined the Isle of Wight - wrong!
There were hoards of small houses crammed in and the sea front teemed with restaurants where the fish was being delivered straight off the boats.
We went to see the main attraction, Pak Tai Temple, built in the 18th century to honour the God who saved the island from plague.
Then a short walk along the front until we found somewhere to sit by the sea that had some shade and any breeze as, by now, it was very warm and sunny. Here we could watch the cyclists race down the hill and then come to a grinding halt as they tried to get back up.
Hopefully all the earlier days should now have had their photos added...
